With those cool, damp morning now upon us, many hunters up here in Northern Michigan are preparing for the fall hunting season. In fact, it has already begun with early season Goose hunting. Regardless of your experience, annually reviewing hunter safety tips is a prudent practice. For youth or first-time hunters, a hunter’s safety program is offered by the DNR. When hunting with others, a pre-hunt meeting by the tailgate is always recommended, especially if hunting over a dog. Bird populations are on the upswing this year; deer populations are beginning to move. Enjoy the beauty in the woods this fall, safely.
